How to clean the cameras on your Kia EV6
Your Kia EV6 has a camera behind the windscreen for FCA and lane keeping, a camera on the tailgate and cameras under the door mirrors for Surround View and Blind-Spot View Monitor. That many cameras means many spots where dirt, rain and salt can affect visibility.
Where are the cameras on the Kia EV6?

Where dirt builds up
The rear camera sits on the sloped tailgate. Since the EV6 has no rear wiper, this camera often stays dirty after rain or on wet roads. The mirror cameras pick up rain drops and have no cleaning of their own.
A blocked windscreen camera can limit or disable FCA and lane keeping, showing a camera obscured warning. Surround View, Blind-Spot View Monitor and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 rely on the exterior cameras, so they need clean lenses too.
How to clean the cameras on your EV6

Tear open
Each wet wipe is separately packaged to remain damp for months when left in a vehicle.

Wipe the lens
A wet wipe can be used to remove dirt, road grime (film) and finger prints. Use the minimum amount of pressure to clean your lenses.

Bin it
Do NOT use an individual wipe twice. After you have cleaned one surface, you will need to dispose of the wet wipe as the dirt has been transferred into the wipe. If you reuse a wet wipe, it may scratch the coating on your lens.

Why does my EV6 rear camera get dirty so often?
The EV6 has no rear wiper and the camera sits on the sloped tailgate. Rain and road grime easily stick there as a result.
Does the Blind-Spot View Monitor still work well in rain?
Many owners say the mirror cameras struggle in heavy rain because drops stay on the lens. A wipe helps with dirt, but it cannot fix haze on the inside of the windscreen.
Can a wipe fix software issues with the camera?
No. A wipe only cleans the outside of the lens. Warnings like camera obscured caused by a technical fault will not be solved this way.
