How to clean the cameras on your Kia EV3
Your Kia EV3 has a camera at the top of the windscreen for collision warning, lane keeping and speed sign recognition, plus a camera on the tailgate for the rear view. Depending on trim, there are also cameras in the front bumper and under the door mirrors for the surround view system. Dirt on these lenses directly affects what the car sees and shows you.

Where dirt builds up
The Kia EV3 has no dedicated cleaning system for its cameras, only windscreen washers and a heated washer nozzle for the windscreen. Rain, road spray and winter salt on the cameras themselves are something you need to wipe off yourself.
Forward collision warning works less well or switches off when the windscreen camera is dirty, showing a message that the assist system is limited. The surround view monitor, blind-spot cameras and remote parking assist also depend on clean lenses.
How to clean the cameras on your EV3

Tear open
Each wet wipe is separately packaged to remain damp for months when left in a vehicle.

Wipe the lens
A wet wipe can be used to remove dirt, road grime (film) and finger prints. Use the minimum amount of pressure to clean your lenses.

Bin it
Do NOT use an individual wipe twice. After you have cleaned one surface, you will need to dispose of the wet wipe as the dirt has been transferred into the wipe. If you reuse a wet wipe, it may scratch the coating on your lens.

Why does my Kia EV3 show a message that the camera is obscured?
This happens when the camera at the top of the windscreen is dirty, wet or covered in condensation. The car then limits collision warning and other assist functions until the view clears.
Does the Kia EV3 clean its own cameras?
No. It only has windscreen washers and a heated washer nozzle for the windscreen, not for the cameras themselves. You need to wipe them clean yourself.
Will a wipe also fix haze on the inside of the windscreen?
No, a wipe for the outside won't fix haze on the inside of the glass. That's a different issue and needs a different approach.
