How to clean the cameras on your Hyundai Kona Electric
Your Hyundai Kona Electric (2023+) has a camera behind the windscreen for driver assist and a camera on the tailgate for the reversing view. Depending on trim, there are also cameras in the door mirrors and a front camera for Surround View and Blind-Spot View. Dirt on any lens shows up right away as haze or a blind spot in the image.

Where dirt builds up
The windscreen camera picks up grime from rain and splashback, while the tailgate camera gets road spray and dirt. There is no camera washer, only a rear wiper and washer for the glass itself. That means the cameras need cleaning by hand.
The front camera feeds Forward Collision-Avoidance and lane keeping, and these work less well when the lens is dirty or misted. Surround View and Blind-Spot View, where fitted, depend on clean cameras in the mirrors and possibly the front.
How to clean the cameras on your Kona Electric

Tear open
Each wet wipe is separately packaged to remain damp for months when left in a vehicle.

Wipe the lens
A wet wipe can be used to remove dirt, road grime (film) and finger prints. Use the minimum amount of pressure to clean your lenses.

Bin it
Do NOT use an individual wipe twice. After you have cleaned one surface, you will need to dispose of the wet wipe as the dirt has been transferred into the wipe. If you reuse a wet wipe, it may scratch the coating on your lens.

Does every Kona Electric have a front camera for Surround View?
No, that front camera is only fitted on the top trim, such as the UK Ultimate. Other trims don't have it.
Will a wipe fix a blurry reversing image?
If the haze is on the inside of the glass or caused by a software fault, a wipe won't help. If dirt sits on the outside of the lens, it will.
Does the Kona Electric have a washer for the reversing camera?
No, the manual doesn't mention a camera washer. It only has a rear wiper and washer for the glass, not for the camera itself.
