How to clean the cameras on your Skoda Enyaq
Your Skoda Enyaq has a camera behind the windscreen for Lane Assist and Travel Assist, a Rear View camera in the tailgate handle, and depending on trim, Area View cameras at the front and in the mirrors. In rain, road spray or winter salt these lenses get dirty fast, and you see that straight away in the image on your screen.
Where are the cameras on the Skoda Enyaq?
- Windscreen, outside in front of the camera
- Grille or front bumper optional
- Under the door mirrors optional
- Reversing camera
Camera equipment varies by trim and model year. Check your owner's manual.
Where dirt builds up
Lane Assist and Travel Assist rely on the camera behind the windscreen. Parking also uses ultrasonic sensors alongside the cameras, so a dirty lens mainly affects the camera image itself.
How to clean the cameras on your Enyaq
- 1
Tear open
Each wet wipe is separately packaged to remain damp for months when left in a vehicle.
- 2
Wipe the lens
A wet wipe can be used to remove dirt, road grime (film) and finger prints. Use the minimum amount of pressure to clean your lenses.
- 3
Bin it
Do NOT use an individual wipe twice. After you have cleaned one surface, you will need to dispose of the wet wipe as the dirt has been transferred into the wipe. If you reuse a wet wipe, it may scratch the coating on your lens.
Skoda Enyaq questions
Does every Enyaq have a 360-degree camera?
No, Area View with cameras at the front and in the mirrors depends on trim. Check your spec sheet to see if you have these cameras.
Why is my reversing camera image blurry after rain?
The lens in the tailgate handle sits low and picks up a lot of road spray. A wipe removes dirt but will not fix haze on the inside of the windscreen or a software fault.
Can I just clean the cameras with a regular car cloth?
That can scratch the lens through abrasives or alcohol. CamWipes are ammonia-free, low in alcohol and lint-free, made for camera lenses.
