How to clean the cameras on your MG ZS
Your MG ZS Hybrid+ has a windscreen camera for MG Pilot, a rear reversing camera, and on the Luxury trim a 360° camera system with four cameras. Dirt or moisture on the lens can affect parking aid and driver assist features. Clean cameras give a sharper image.
Where are the cameras on the MG ZS?
- Windscreen, outside in front of the camera
- Grille or front bumper optional
- Under the door mirrors optional
- Reversing camera
Camera equipment varies by trim and model year. Check your owner's manual.
Where dirt builds up
MG Pilot uses the windscreen camera for adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and automatic emergency braking. These are standard across all trims. A dirty lens can make them work less well.
How to clean the cameras on your ZS
- 1
Tear open
Each wet wipe is separately packaged to remain damp for months when left in a vehicle.
- 2
Wipe the lens
A wet wipe can be used to remove dirt, road grime (film) and finger prints. Use the minimum amount of pressure to clean your lenses.
- 3
Bin it
Do NOT use an individual wipe twice. After you have cleaned one surface, you will need to dispose of the wet wipe as the dirt has been transferred into the wipe. If you reuse a wet wipe, it may scratch the coating on your lens.
MG ZS questions
Does every MG ZS have a 360° camera?
No, that four-camera system is only on the Luxury trim. Other trims get a rear reversing camera instead.
Can a wipe clear haze on the inside of the windscreen?
No, a wipe cannot fix that. Inside haze is usually caused by moisture and needs a different approach.
Why does my lane keeping sometimes misbehave?
MG Pilot relies on the windscreen camera. If it is dirty or fogged, the system sees less clearly. That is down to the lens, not a software fault.
