How to clean the cameras on your MG4. The MG4 has a camera behind the rear-view mirror for MG Pilot (adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, collision avoidance, speed sign recognition) and a 360° camera system with front, rear and mirror cameras, depending on trim.
Where are the cameras on the MG MG4?
- Windscreen, outside in front of the camera
- Grille or front bumper
- Under the door mirrors
- Reversing camera

Where dirt builds up
Dirt builds up mostly on the windscreen camera behind the mirror. In frost and condensation it mists up or ices over quickly, just like the windscreen itself. There is no known built-in cleaning for these cameras.
When the windscreen camera is blocked by frost or condensation, MG Pilot shows a warning and switches off adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and collision avoidance until the camera has a clear view again.

Tear open
Each wet wipe is separately packaged to remain damp for months when left in a vehicle.

Wipe the lens
A wet wipe can be used to remove dirt, road grime (film) and finger prints. Use the minimum amount of pressure to clean your lenses.

Bin it
Do NOT use an individual wipe twice. After you have cleaned one surface, you will need to dispose of the wet wipe as the dirt has been transferred into the wipe. If you reuse a wet wipe, it may scratch the coating on your lens.

Why does my MG4 show a blocked front camera error?
This often happens on cold, damp mornings when the camera behind the mirror mists up or ices over. MG Pilot then switches off driver assist features until the camera has a clear view again.
Does every MG4 have a 360° camera system?
this will depend on your version of the car. Not all versions of the MG4 come fitted as standard with all of the cameras required to provide the 360° view.
Can a wipe fix misting on the inside of the windscreen?
No. A wipe cleans the outside of the camera lens, but it can't fix misting on the inside of the glass or a software fault.
