How to clean the cameras on your BMW i4
Your BMW i4 has a camera behind the windscreen for Active Guard Plus and a reversing camera inside the BMW badge on the boot lid. Depending on trim, a front camera in the kidney grille and two mirror cameras add Parking Assistant Plus. Dirty lenses give a blurry or dark image right when you need it.

Where dirt builds up
One owner reports the rear camera in the boot-lid badge is covered in water or fog almost every morning and wipes it daily. Other owners report little dirt. The i4 has no built-in camera washer, the manual advises cleaning by hand with a cloth and a little glass cleaner.
The windscreen camera drives Active Guard Plus. The rear camera belongs to Parking Assistant, the grille and mirror cameras to Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View and Remote 3D View, where fitted. Foggy or dirty lenses make these views unusable.
How to clean the cameras on your i4

Tear open
Each wet wipe is separately packaged to remain damp for months when left in a vehicle.

Wipe the lens
A wet wipe can be used to remove dirt, road grime (film) and finger prints. Use the minimum amount of pressure to clean your lenses.

Bin it
Do NOT use an individual wipe twice. After you have cleaned one surface, you will need to dispose of the wet wipe as the dirt has been transferred into the wipe. If you reuse a wet wipe, it may scratch the coating on your lens.
